I should probably add that I can be pretty awkward at times just to get THAT off my chest. See? We're already getting to know each other and luckily we're probably a LOT alike! Isn't that a great start? Welcome to my little land of "YOU ARE FUCKING WORTHY" where as long as you're here you can be anyone and anything you've ever dreamed of. I spent my childhood tirelessly looking for the meaning of life and trying to soak up every precious moment. I spent my 20's juggling a business, colleges, multiple jobs to make ends meet after an unexpected divorce. Years later, I tirelessly hoped and prayed for love and to start a family of my own. At 32, I've finally found all those things and ALAS, the rebirth of both myself as a woman, but of my Business is upon us.
11 years ago I began photographing everything from Military homecomings & deployments. pets, babies, kids, senior portraits, events, weddings, Boudoir and SO much more. May of 2014 was the launch of my first Studio in Medina, Ohio and I enjoyed 4 lovely years there until the birth of our daughter "Faith."
To be honest, something about my Business was always missing in my heart all those years. From the very beginning I fell in love with Boudoir and let so many people talk me out of specializing in it. I enjoyed it SO much I began professionally modeling Boudoir for years JUST to sponge up every nugget of knowledge I could on BOTH sides of the camera. I wanted to truly offer my clients that "I've been there" first hand experience and I am SO happy I did! The NEW Marissa is ready to show the naysayers "too-da-loo" and be the boss ass bitch I know you're google searching "Boudoir Photographers near me" for.
Raise your hand if childbirth changed not only your ENTIRE world, but every ounce of your being as a woman. I went from floating through the motions looking for the meaning of life to waking up to it every single morning and it was LIFECHANGING. So much so, that it lead me here. To YOU. I feel an unexplainable amount of passion for healing women and proving to each and every one of you that you are PERFECT just they way you are. I've spent a GOOD chunk of my adult life feeling unworthy, unloved, abused, and being told I was never going to pull "xyz" off. I've been told to remain professional, don't cuss, keep my personal and business life separate and you know what? I went into Business for myself so I could find MY people. The people that vibe with people JUST LIKE ME who are FINALLY open to unapologetically being themselves; without approval. That's what makes EACH of us SO special, and authentic. It is a VERY powerful chapter to walk away from and begin fresh. Sometimes the pressure and fear is intimidating but I have to follow my instincts as well as my heart. It lead me to you, and you to me. That says something, right?
Consider this the rebirth of my new self, new Business and what I can now proudly offer YOU. I am so blessed, humbled and excited to have you here along this emotional, exciting, life changing journey with me.
I'm not perfect, but I can promise you that as long as you believe in me, I will FOREVER believe in YOU. From here forward I will be devoting my Business to empowering Women through my lens and I hope you walk away from our session feeling like a worthy, unstoppable QUEEN.
